Workshop (50-60 minutes)
Oral presentation (15-60 minutes depending on topic)
You may be asked to alter the presentation format following acceptance to align with the symposium schedule.
More detail on formats is given below.
-

Poster
A poster should be a comprehensive overview of a short research project, audit or intervention, or a more focussed description of one aspect of a larger project. It should be referenced as with any other submission. We recommend that you consider designing your poster with the viewer in mind and use graphics to reduce the density of text and make it more readable and engaging.
Posters should be brought to the presentation space on the morning of the first day of the symposium. Presenters should be prepared to stand with their poster, to discuss their work, during one of the breaks, which will be listed on the symposium schedule as a poster session. Posters should be A1 portrait size and printed by the contributor and brought to the site themselves. We will provide tape, pins or tack to affix them to the presentation surface.

Workshop
Workshops are usually 50-60 minutes and must be interactive. These are smaller group sessions and should be an opportunity for delegates to develop their skills, discuss best practice or explore key ideas in the field. Presenters should be aware that workshops will be attended by colleagues from all disciplines and should bear this in mind when creating the content to ensure that it is accessible for all within reason. For example, offering a brief overview of basic concepts to ensure that colleagues from other disciplines have a sufficient understanding to make the most of the material. Workshop presenters will be given a room with seating and a microphone. If you wish to present slides you will need to bring a laptop with the slides already loaded and indicate the type of laptop in advance in order to ensure that we can accommodate your technical needs.
-

All delegates presentation
Presentations to the whole group of delegates from the main stage should be on topics that are of universal relevance to all, or most, disciplines. Presenters should bear in mind that there will be a wide range of professional backgrounds in the audience and should ensure that their presentation is accessible to all. Please provide basic introductory information where applicable to ensure that all delegates can benefit from the content.
They should usually be PowerPoint presentations. Presentations must be uploaded to the website a week before the symposium or slides cannot be guaranteed to be available at the venue. Presenters should be aware that large films often cause technical issues and that uploading these to a laptop can cause delays that interfere with the running of the schedule. If you wish to use a large film in your presentation we recommend that you inform the symposium organisers and arrange to bring it with you on a separate drive and give this to the technical team immediately on arrival at the venue on day 1.

Lightning Summary
Lightning summaries last 3-5 minutes each and usually update on or pitch ongoing research to an audience who may be following the progress of a longer project, or who may be able to contribute to the work of, or recruit on behalf of, the research.
