Hi, my name is Tessa, I’m a final year medical student studying at Cardiff University and a trans woman. I’m from Loughborough in England originally and have had experience with both the English and Welsh systems of gender-affirming care, leading to my initial interest in transgender healthcare. Recently, I had the opportunity to take this further and work with the Welsh Gender Service as part of a student-directed project leading to my next area of interest – the role of GPs in delivering trans healthcare as I would also like to be a GP after foundation training. This is my first time at BAGIS and I’m really looking forward to working with everyone to provide the best care possible for all our trans and non-binary people out there.
